​"Our Story"

Shotokan Karate-Do International Association (SKDIA). Was founded in Japan, 2010, by Masanobu Nihei Shihan, a 9th Dan who was previously a member of various other karate organizations. SKDIA aims to focus on the traditional and practical aspects of Shotokan Karate. Nihei's vision for the SKDIA is to preserve the teachings of Gichin Funakoshi Sensei and the original Shotokan Karate techniques.

 

The SKDIA places great importance on bunkai, which involves the practical applications of kata. Full-contact kumite, or sparring, is also an integral part of the training in the SKDIA.

 

SKDIA has members in over 30 countries worldwide and is committed to promoting Shotokan Karate as a martial art and a way of life. SKDIA is known for its strict adherence to traditional training methods and pushing students to reach their full potential.

 

In conclusion, the SKDIA offers a unique approach to Shotokan Karate, focusing on the practical applications of kata and full contact sparring. This organization serves as another platform for individuals to master the traditional martial art.
